As Silas returned to work, Ivy’s heart pounded. Why was she suddenly feeling this way?
She shoved the emotions aside, chalking them up to the fact that she was just really horny. She brought out her phone and dialed Tim New. He picked up almost immediately.
“Hello, Mrs Stone, Tim said.
“Hello, Mr. New. How do you do?” she asked.
“Great” Tim replied. “Your husband said you’ve gotten a new place.”
Her eyes drifted to Silas who was engrossed with work. “Yes I have, and I would like for work to begin immediately.”
“Thaven’t seen the building yet, but I have made some sketches based on the first one we checked out. Would you like to see them?” Tim asked.
“Yes please. Send them to my mail, I will check to see which of them can work with this new one,” she said.
“Excellent!” Tim exclaimed. “I would do that right away. But in case you still don’t like any of them, or we don’t get to use them, I would still like to check out the building” he explained
Ivy racked her brain. After all that happened today already, she didn’t want to go out again.
“My bodyguard can take you there today, I am currently unavailable for that, she replied.
“No problem, ma’am. That would work,” Tim said.
“Alright.”

“How did that go?” Silas asked, tilting his head towards her.
“Looking good. I just hope I find a design I like,” she said as she typed out her email address and sent it to Tim

Ivy nodded, just as her phone chimed with a message. She thought it was from Tim New, but was surprised to see it v from Theresa. She opened it and read:

“Not really” Theresa replied. “Can I talk to you about something? Can you promise not to tell anybody? Not even Silas”
Ivy’s heart tightened. What was happening? She was confused, but she replied
“Yes. Sure. What’s wrong?”
“My marriage is failing, Ivy. I need some advice.”

hy set her phone beside her, her mind racing with questions, but she hoped Theresa and Wills would be fine. Her stomach groaned, reminding her that she hadn’t eaten.

Ivy changed into a casual gown, and went to the dining room. She asked Bethany for a light meal and warted while it was prepared.
As Bethany entered with a plate of macarons, chocolate truffles, and a glass of orange juice, Ivy’s phone buzzed email from Tim.
“Thank you, Bethany, Ivy said, smiling at her.
“You’re welcome, ma’am. Enjoy your meal” Bethany said.
When Ivy was alone, she pulled out her phone and checked the designs as she ate. Tim had sent seven ideas, and she could already see three working perfectly
She dropped her spoon and dialed his number. “Hello, Mr. New
“Hi, Mrs Stone,” Tim replied. “Did you get my mail?”
“Yes I did,” she said. “I think three of them can work.”
“Ah, great.” Tim sounded pleased.
“Number 2, 5, and 8,” she said, reaching for the glass of juice,

Ivy continued with her meal, her mind reeling with how cool the building would look when Tim was done. When she finished, she met Bud and instructed him to meet Tim there.
For the rest of the day, she and Silas talked and shared homemade food before ending the night with love making The next morning, Ivy’s day started with a message from Theresa inviting her to breakfast at the same restaurant they visited yesterday.

Ivy nodded but didn’t speak.
“We have been… I have been trying for a child… but he doesn’t… our jobs… we.. Theresa’s voice broke Ivy reached for her hand and gave it a squeeze. Thankfully, the restaurant wasn’t so crowded “Oh, Theresa:” Theresa sniffed. “I’m trying to understand how being pregnant affects him. Ivy pulled her chair close and hugged her. “I understand you, T. I really do.”
Theresa sobbed in Ivy’s arms. “It’s not supposed to be a big deal, but now our differences are becoming a problem.”
“You should have a deeper conversation with him. Go through the advantages and disadvantages of childbearing and corne to a conclusion. I’m so sorry, love.”

Celene returned with their coffees and set it down.

“Where are you going after here?” Theresa asked as she sipped her drink.
Ivy leaned back. “I’m going to see my cousin in Mill Valley, and then check out the progress in my new office”
“Oh nice. Congratulations,” Theresa said, and then she suddenly said upright. “Do you think Wills and I would bond over hiking?”
“Hiking? I’m not sure, Ivy replied, as her heart flipped at the pain she had endured that day.
Theresa laughed. “I know you hate it. Maybe Wills might love it?”

Ivy blinked. “But breakfast?”
“We’ll do that when we get back. Let’s go.” Theresa said, gesturing.
The sadness in Theresa’s eyes had disappeared, and she was smiling already. Ivy didn’t have the heart to disappoint her so she agreed. “Fine”
