When I woke up again, Chad was no longer there. I tried to move, but it was still impossible. I didn’t see any wounds on my hands, no signs of having had my limbs broken.
That night, Chad returned, using a wheelchair to take me to another place.
It was Antonio’s house.
Chad threw me into a lavishly decorated room before jumping out the window.
Not long after, the door opened. It was Yvonne.
Yvonne had changed from her previously pretentious demeanor and looked at me arrogantly as if she were untouch- able.
“Oh! Look who’s here! Ms. Parrish, so you don’t always get to order around, look down on people, and treat people like trash, huh?”
I looked at her smug expression but said nothing.
“Antonio is going to marry me. You don’t know that, do you? I can’t help it; he loves me so much that he’ll do what- ever I say. And Chad, too, he actually hurt you for me. Does it feel good to be disabled?”
Yvonne stepped forward and slapped me across the face.
Her eyes flashed with excitement, enjoying the fun, and she slapped me hard again.
I was slapped so hard on my head that I lost my balance for a bit, and Yvonne looked at me condescendingly.
“My dad got convicted and it’s all your fault! But don’t be happy just yet, your good times are over too. Antonio has already contacted the overseas Morfitis family to jointly attack the Parrish Group’s business, so I guess Mr. Parrish is already at the end of his rope!”
My expression didn’t change at all, instead, I stared at her and asked my doubts, “Yvonne, my family has never treat- ed you poorly. We even let you go to an elite school with me, so why do you hate me?”
“Because I’m jealous! Why are you the one born into such an illustrious family while I’m the daughter of a servant? Why are you born with untold amounts of money while I have to stoop low to curry favor with you? And all those bodyguards of yours, I lured each one of them, but only Chad, that fool, took the bait. If I got to turn more of them on my side, I guess you’d have died even faster.”
“So, you’re not being sincere with Chad.”
Yvonne laughed. “Who is he to deserve me? I will only marry Antonio or a more powerful family head. Chad is noth- ing but a slave of mine. I’m the same as you, you also treat him like your slave.”

“I’m not the same as you,” I said. “Andrew, Chad, and the others, they’re all my family. We share the same family name.”
Yvonne burst out laughing again. “What does it matter if he’s your family? In the end, he still betrayed you for me.
