Chapter 12
On Monday, Mia didn’t return to the dorm.
Although I didn’t witness what happened that day, hearing Mia’s heart–wrenching sobs told me Sam had put her through hell.
It wasn’t until half a month later that Mia reappeared at school, looking even thinner than before.
I feigned concern and asked her, “Sis, where have you been all this time? You look really pale.”
Mia instinctively covered her cheeks and suddenly glared at me. “None of your business.”
I said helplessly, “I’m just worried about you.”
“You’d better worry about yourself instead, before someone breaks your legs.” After angrily spitting out these words, Mia stormed into the bathroom.
The dorm reeked of her overpowering perfume.
It was a long time before Mia emerged from the bathroom and left for class.
I also went to the classroom but didn’t sit with Mia.

Her perfume was just too overwhelming.
Classmates started complaining: “Mia, why are you wearing such strong perfume? It’s awful.”
Mia immediately shot back: “That’s nonsense. You’re just jealous because you can’t afford designer perfume.”

Everyone kept their distance from her. On the surface, Mia acted like she didn’t care, but back in the dorm, she complained to me.
“Our classmates are so annoying. What’s wrong with wearing a little perfume?”
I told her honestly, “Your perfume really is too strong.”
Mia immediately glared at me unhappily: “You’re just like them. Whatever, I won’t be staying at school much longer anyway. I’m about to become an actress.”
