Mia didn’t disappoint me–she went straight home after being discharged from the hospital.
The next day, I received news of Sam’s death.
In that moment, I finally felt relief.
That old pervert was finally dead.
What wonderful news.
I didn’t need anyone to tell me I knew Sam had died of a heart attack. His heart couldn’t handle that kind of shock, and once his medication supply was cut off, he was done for.
After Sam’s funeral, Mia rushed to the company demanding a shareholders‘ meeting.
All the shareholders showed up.
As a company shareholder, I naturally had to attend as well.
Mia was surprised to see me: “What are you doing here?”
I smiled slightly: “I’m a shareholder.”
Caleb walked between Mia and me, pulling me into the conference room.

Mia walked to the front and announced: “Grandpa passed away. He said before that after his death, all his assets would go to me, so from now on, I’m the chairman of this company.”
The shareholders exchanged amused glances.
“Little girl, we came to this meeting to humor you, but you can’t play us like this.”
Mia said urgently: “I’m not playing you. Grandpa left a will.”
Director Jimmy waved his hand with a smile: “No need to look at any will. Sam’s shares were transferred to Mr. Whitman long ago. He doesn’t have any assets left.”
Mia asked in shock: “What?”
She couldn’t believe it: “How is that possible? That’s impossible!”
Jimmy continued: “The company’s largest shareholder now is Mr. Whitman, and the second largest is Ms. Hayes.”
He pointed at me.
Mia still couldn’t believe it: “That’s impossible!”
She suddenly pointed at me, her voice sharp and piercing: “Ruby, why aren’t your legs crippled yet? Caleb, hurry up and

cripple her legs, do it now!”
Caleb gave Mia a cold look and had someone escort her out.
This shareholders‘ meeting was nothing but a joke.
Caleb and I walked out together.

“There’s surveillance in Grandpa’s bedroom. Mia deliberately took away his medication. This is premeditated murder. I’ve already called the police.”
As if remembering something, he smiled and asked: “Are you sad?”

Suddenly, the harsh roar of an engine filled the air.
Caleb and I both turned to look.
Mia was sitting in a car, flooring the gas pedal, driving like a maniac straight toward us.
Her expression was twisted with rage, and her lips seemed to be shouting: “Go to hell!”
Everything happened in an instant. Before I could even react, Caleb shoved me hard out of the way.

With a tremendous crash, Caleb was sent flying.
Mia’s car slammed into the pillar at the company entrance.
She died on impact.
