The shorter team member beside them also looked dejected. “And there were the endorsement deals and prize money after winning Olympic medals…”
Their faces were full of worry. Ryan, as the team captain, hung his head low, seemingly deep in thought.
After a long while, he looked at Isla. “Are you sure Emma was really behind this? And not that cold medicine…”
Ryan actually hadn’t seen clearly what kind of cold medicine Isla had given him–she had just said it wouldn’t affect the competition. Due to his argument with me at the time, anger had clouded his judgment, and he drank it without thinking.
Hearing Ryan’s questioning tone, a flash of displeasure and grievance crossed Isla’s eyes.
“Ryan, what are you trying to say? Do you think I would hurt you?”
“That’s not what I meant.” Ryan quickly explained.
Isla lowered her eyes, concealing her scheming thoughts.
“I have a way to make Coach Emma respond!”
I returned to my rented apartment and immediately began packing without rest, preparing to move.
Fortunately, I had already organized some things earlier. The remaining luggage wasn’t much–almost everything could fit in a single suitcase.
However, the moment I opened the door, I saw a large crowd of reporters gathered outside.
Before I could react, a young reporter quickly approached, shoving a microphone in my face while camera flashes constantly went off. “Coach Emma, regarding Isla and your team members‘ accusations that you subjected them to harsh training and secretly manipulated the urine test results, what’s
your response?”
I instinctively stepped back, quickly guessing that Isla was probably pulling another livestream stunt.
“These allegations are false. I demand they provide evidence,” I responded calmly.
As my words fell, five familiar figures emerged from the crowd.
Isla walked over arm–in–arm with Ryan and the other three team members, her face bearing a smug expression.
Isla pulled out her phone and, just like in my previous life, began playing edited video clips. The footage showed my usual training sessions with the team, but she had deliberately cut out the positive parts, making the training appear especially harsh and inhumane.
She declared loudly:
“This woman Emma doesn’t deserve to be a coach!”
“I have evidence proving she has feelings for Ryan. When she saw Ryan and me together, she flew into a jealous rage and tried every means to destroy
him!”
With that, she pulled a letter from her bag.
It was the love letter I had written to Ryan years ago.
How did it end up in her hands?
I stared questioningly at Ryan, who kept his head down and wouldn’t meet my eyes, but got no explanation from him.
Ten years ago, when Ryan and I first met, he claimed love at first sight and wrote me 99 love letters. On the 100th letter, I agreed to be with him, and I also wrote him a love letter in response.
Now, this love letter was being displayed before everyone, turned into a weapon for Ryan to attack me.

Public opinion became chaotic.
I clenched my fists tightly, nearly biting through my lip, barely restraining myself from punching her in the face.
I stepped forward and shouted at Isla, “Give it back!”
But Isla became even more brazen. She viciously threw the love letter to the ground, then deliberately shouted loudly.
“Emma, you’re the one who ruined Ryan! You should face the consequences!”
After saying this, she suddenly lunged at me, grabbing my hair and forcing my head toward the ground.
The reporters panicked and tried to help, but were blocked by the other team members. Seeing Isla’s expression grow increasingly vicious, I used all my strength to flip over, throwing her to the ground.
Just as I was about to strike her, Ryan suddenly rushed over and kicked me hard.
“Emma! That’s enough!”
I was knocked to the ground, clutching my aching stomach as I looked at him. Ryan was tenderly helping Isla to her feet.
