Moments later, several doctors in white coats came panting up the stairwell and stopped in front of Gus.
Gus surveyed the faces before him–some seasoned, some fresh out of medical school–and nodded in approval.
Gus said, “This OR has a live feed. Once we’re inside, make sure you observe closely–a craniotomy of this caliber is rare. especially with Mr. Sylvan himself wielding the scalpel. I expect your full focus.”
“OMG, Mr. Sylvan? The one and only?”
“Wait–hasn’t Mr. Sylvan been practically retired from surgery these past few years? Can’t believe we’re actually getting to see him operate today–what incredible luck.”
“Mr. Logan just got back, and he’s already set up a surgery of this caliber for us? That’s absolutely incredible.”
“Come on, let’s get in there. Not a second to lose.”
The young doctors were already chattering excitedly, their voices overlapping in eager discussion. Even the more seasoned and composed physicians, though not showing much outward curiosity, watched Gus with anticipation in their eyes.
Gus swaggered in with visible pride, leading his medical entourage into the monitored observation room.
The massive screen was already streaming this high–stakes, life–and–death surgery.
But the moment Gus saw who was holding the scalpel, the smile on his face froze solid. Then, slowly, his expression twisted and contorted, expanding until his entire face seemed to shatter–he just couldn’t hold it in any longer.
Gus exclaimed, “What the hell? A woman?”
The doctors exchanged bewildered glances, utterly confused about what was happening. But seeing Gus so furious, none of them dared say a word. They just lowered their heads, trying to shrink into the background.
But just then, they heard Gus exclaim in shock again.
“Mr. Sylvan is just assisting? I’ve never heard of him willing to take a back seat to anyone. It’s unbelievable,” Gus stammered
in shock
“Wait–this surgeon’s technique is extraordinary. Everyone, pay close attention.” Gus’s voice suddenly jumped several octaves, thick with disbelief.
The doctors all snapped their heads up, and the instant they saw those precise, masterful movements on the giant screen, every single one of them was left utterly stunned.
The woman’s movements were exquisitely precise. With just a deft flick of her fingers, she effortlessly avoided the brain’s most vascularized region–a technique none of the doctors present could ever hope to achieve.
Gus grew increasingly excited as he watched, slapping his thigh and springing to his feet. “Go and get all the senior doctors from our hospital over here. This could very well be a moment that goes down in history.”
“Who’s going to go?” one of the junior doctors muttered reluctantly, his eyes still glued to the screen.

The doctors nearby exchanged hesitant nudges, each unwilling to be the first to look away from the mesmerizing screen.
Finally, Gus, utterly fed up, jabbed a finger at one of the doctors and barked, “You go.”
Seeing the doctor’s hesitant shuffling. Gus snapped impatiently, “What’s there to worry about? The surveillance footage is all recorded. I’ll have you all watch it back frame by frame later to study every detail”
Gus’s impassioned speech electrified the room, sending a surge of excitement through the doctors. Even the most reluctant physician bolted out without hesitation.
Andy stood at the entrance, trying to intercept the rushing doctor. “How’s the surgery going inside?” he called out.
The doctor didn’t even spare a second to respond–he just blurted out, “She’s so amazing,” before dashing off.
Only Andy was left standing outside, utterly bewildered.
Moments later, a few elderly doctors were practically dragged in, panting heavily as they stopped in front of Gus.
One of them couldn’t help but grumble, “Gus, why are you dragging us out here
“Look at this, everyone. Gus jabbed a finger at the big screen, grinning smugly.
like this?”
Gus stood with his hands on his hips, laughing triumphantly as he watched the senior doctors‘ expressions shift from initial bewilderment to utter astonishment.
“Well? Her technique?”
