Chapter 45
“What do you think you’re doing? Get your hands off that kid!”
The voice belonged to a man in his thirties. His suit was rumpled, but his hair was combed with meticulous care. He glared at Zina with utter disgust.
“I’m saving his life. Now get out of my way.”
Zina saw the boy’s color worsening and had no time to waste on the man.
She shook his hand off her arm and moved toward the child, but the man blocked her path again.
He wore a smug expression, as if he’d just accomplished a great feat.
Zina’s face finally hardened.
“What is your problem? I told you, I’m trying to help him!”
“So am I. I’m a doctor–an attending physician at Metropolis General, the man announced, then looked Zina up and down with growing disdain. “An amateur like you needs to step aside.”
“It’s obvious the boy is in temporary shock. If you move him recklessly and his condition worsens, can you take responsibility for that?”
The man’s confident tone immediately won over the crowd.
Someone in the throng recognized Zina and shouted, “You can’t trust her! She tried to impersonate a doctor at Skyline Plaza just a little while ago. They found out and threw her out.”
“Is she delusional? She thinks knowing a few medical terms makes her a doctor?”
“A quack like her could get someone killed. She’s probably just trying to use the kid for practice.”
“That’s disgusting. Someone should have her arrested.“‘
Zina sighed at their words.
“So much noise from such small minds. It’s truly pathetic.
The man basked in the crowd’s support. To solidify his position, he announced, “Everyone, please rest assured, I’ve already called my hospital. An ambulance will be here shortly.”
Just then, the wail of a siren cut through the air.
The doctor moved to pick up the boy, but Zina’s heart seized. She shot forward and shoved him aside.
It was the first time she had spoken so sharply in public, and she never imagined it would be under these circumstances.
“Look at him. His lips are blue and he’s struggling to breathe. You identified his shock, so you should know better than anyone that moving him is the worst possible thing you can do! You have to stabilize his vitals first.”

“What are you talking about?”
The man’s face soured. He couldn’t immediately refute her point,
‘She actually knows a thing or two.
Still, he stuck to his guns, puffing out his chest. “We need to get him to a hospital. There’s no inedical equipment here. How can we treat him? Do you think you can fix everything with just words? We’re doctors. We take action!”
His voice was forceful, but a hint of uncertainty lurked beneath the surface.
Nevertheless, the crowd ate it up, cheering him on.
Zina’s lips thinned into a hard line. “I can save him.”
“You?” The man couldn’t help it; he let out a short, sharp laugh. “If you can save him, I’ll resign from my position.”
A murmur went through the crowd. “Did you hear that? He’s an attending physician at Metropolis General! That’s incredible!
“And so young! He must have a brilliant future ahead of him.”
“I knew he was the real deal. That woman got kicked out of a building, and now she’s here causing trouble. It’s easy not to care when it’s not your kid
