Chapter 93
Zina pushed open the door to find a team of doctors frantically attending to the boy on the hospital bed.
The sight of that small figure wrung Zina’s heart. Her lips pressed into a thin line as a storm of emotions flickered in her
eyes.
As her thoughts snapped back into focus, Zina found herself standing over Cain’s hospital bed.
Cain’s brows were tightly furrowed, his lips almost gnawed through. Even in his unconscious state, his fingers compulsively clawed at the sheet beneath him, tearing it apart. His entire being seemed consumed by immense agony.
“Cain, are you okay? Miss Sinclair, can he truly recover from this?” Miles asked.
His voice was hoarse, his eyes rimmed red. He clenched his fists so tightly his knuckles turned pale, doing everything he could to keep his pain from showing.
Zina’s brow remained deeply furrowed as she offered no immediate reply. Her fingertips rested on Cain’s wrist, carefully assessing his pulse for a long moment before she finally opened her eyes.
A flicker of something unreadable flashed across Zina’s eyes.
Zina turned and locked eyes with Miles–his gaze full of concern.
“Doctors, I’ll need you all to step out. I require a quiet surgical environment,” Zina instructed, her tone calm yet commanding.
“Surgery? You can’t possibly be planning to perform an operation right here in this medical suite?” a voice sounded.
One of the doctors in a white coat exclaimed in disbelief, his brows furrowing deeply, his expression grave, “Young lady. surgery is no joke.
“While the facilities here are quite well–equipped, this is no proper hospital. Besides, don’t you need assistance for an operation? How can someone so young talk so big?”
“Exactly. Even we who’ve trained overseas wouldn’t dare claim we could perform surgery so casually. And here you are, young lady, putting on this charade of pulse diagnosis–do you really think you can just pull off this sham?”
“Mr. Quinn, where on earth did you dig up this young upstart? She’s utterly presumptuous–shows a reckless disregard for
human life.”
The gathered doctors grumbled one after another, their voices growing louder with indignation. Some even shot Zina looks that shifted from skepticism to outright contempt.
Amid the bustling crowd, only Miles stood at the center, his brow deeply furrowed in silent contemplation. He remained uncharacteristically quiet, leaving everyone to wonder what was going through his mind.
Zina clenched her fists, but all she could do was stand her ground, facing off against the skeptical doctors.
She could understand what the others were thinking–she just couldn’t figure out what Miles was up to.
By all rights, Miles knew exactly what she was capable of. He really shouldn’t just be standing by and watching like this.

After what felt like an eternity. Miles finally raised his head and declared with unwavering resolve, “Let her handle it. From now on, everyone follows Miss Sinclair’s instructions. I’ll take full responsibility for whatever happens.
The moment he spoke, the clamoring doctors fell instantly silent, as if they’d been suddenly muzzled–their faces flushing a furious red from suppressed outrage.
“You can’t be serious finally, one of the doctors couldn’t hold back and started to protest.
However, the moment he met Miles’s sudden, icy, commanding glare, he instantly fell silent, not daring to utter another word.
In no time, the room was cleared out, leaving only Zina, Miles, and the unconscious Cain.
A flecting trace of anguised Miles’s eyes before he closed them. reining in his emotions. In a carefully measured tone, he said, “Miss Sinclair, I’m entrusting Cain to your care. Please do everything you can for his condition. I’ll step outside now.”
As the door swung shut, Zina’s gaze settled, her voice gentle yet carrying an unmistakable authority. “Cain, hold on just a little longer.
