Prierce familys 102

Chapter102

She could be fragile, powerless, and broken, but at the same

time she could be tough, smart, and strong.

Adelaide is not a rose in a greenhouse, but a rose that still

blooms stubbornly in the desert despite wind and frost.

“From tonight onwards, you gotta have some self–defense stuff

on you,” Reginald said gently, “I’ll have Nathan get it ready for

you.”

Adelaide didn’t say anything, but her heart felt like a clock

suddenly struck, ringing non–stop.

If it were Spencer or Garrett, their first reaction after

encountering such a thing would be what.

Oh, it was decided to have bodyguards to watched over her for

24 hours.

Or stop giving her the chance to act alone.

At least that’s how it was arranged until the danger was

resolved.

Back in the day, Adelaide would always listen and she knew it

was their way of showing they cared and wanted to protect her.

Chapter102

The more she was protected like this, the more she seemed to

become a waste, and then let herself be manipulated.

Thinking carefully, all she got in return was a chill running

down her spine.

Reginald was right, she should really thank Garrett and

Amanda, otherwise she would have spent the rest of her life

like a puppet on a string, day in and day out, living a dull and

uninteresting life.

Back to the Sterling Estates.

Adelaide, all dirty, could only say politely, “Mr. Thorton, if you

want water, go get it from the fridge.”

“Yeah,” Reginald casually sat on the sofa, “Do your thing.”

Adelaide didn’t hesitate, she turned around and went into the

bedroom to take a shower.

After all, the police could come at any time, and then they

would have to go to the police station.

Adelaide washed herself four or five times all over before she

felt there was no more sand in her hair.

When Adelaide came out, she smelled the delicious food.

She paused, just reached the kitchen door, and saw Reginald

Chapter102

coming out with a steaming bowl of soup noodles.

Rolled up sleeves, showing off half arms, slender and attractive.

He undid two buttons on his collar, revealing his chest muscles

peeking out.

I felt like a family cook all of a sudden.

“Eat noodles,” Reginald urged, setting down the bowl of soup.

“Thanks… Mr. Thorton,” Adelaide was pleasantly surprised, and

when she sat down, Reginald brought out another bowl.

“What, you eat and I don’t eat?”

“Nope,” Adelaide mumbled with her head buried in the noodles,

tasting surprisingly good.

“How’s it going?”

“It was delicious.” That’s the truth.

“Learned just now!”

Adelaide was shocked for two seconds, then she praised, “Mr. Thorton is really amazing.”

Reginald smirked and said, “Eat up, just got a call, Zayne got

caught at the bus station.”

Chapter102

Adelaide sped up her pace, and about ten minutes later, she and

Reginald headed to the police station.

The situation was special, so they were all arranged in the

meeting room together.

They came over together, Spencer’s eyes filled with anger.

Today, the deputy director personally came to take charge. He

saw Reginald and still gave him a nod of respect. “Mr. Thorton,

long time no see!”

“Long time no see, Mr. Kaufman,” Reginald nodded.

The Thorton family was a big deal at Evercrest, always

donating billions for poverty alleviation every year, so

everyone had to show them respect.

Knowing that Reginald was still around tonight, the chief who

was far away couldn’t make it back, so he asked Kaleb Kaufman

to fill in.
