Adelaide didn’t say anything, but her heart felt like a clock
suddenly struck, ringing non–stop.

want water, go get it from the fridge.”

bedroom to take a shower.

“Eat noodles,” Reginald urged, setting down the bowl of soup.

when she sat down, Reginald brought out another bowl.
“What, you eat and I don’t eat?”
“Nope,” Adelaide mumbled with her head buried in the noodles,
tasting surprisingly good.
“How’s it going?”
“It was delicious.” That’s the truth.
“Learned just now!”
Adelaide was shocked for two seconds, then she praised, “Mr. Thorton is really amazing.”
Reginald smirked and said, “Eat up, just got a call, Zayne got
caught at the bus station.”

Adelaide sped up her pace, and about ten minutes later, she and
Reginald headed to the police station.
The situation was special, so they were all arranged in the
meeting room together.
They came over together, Spencer’s eyes filled with anger.
Today, the deputy director personally came to take charge. He
saw Reginald and still gave him a nod of respect. “Mr. Thorton,
long time no see!”
“Long time no see, Mr. Kaufman,” Reginald nodded.
The Thorton family was a big deal at Evercrest, always
donating billions for poverty alleviation every year, so
everyone had to show them respect.
Knowing that Reginald was still around tonight, the chief who
was far away couldn’t make it back, so he asked Kaleb Kaufman
to fill in.
