The class ended, Adelaide hung out with Arianna for a while,
and when they came out, it was almost ten o’clock.
Lucille took Arianna back to the room to wash up, and she
mentioned to her, “Ms. Pierce, Reginald is downstairs drinking
with Roderick.”
Upon hearing this, Adelaide was taken aback.
Was Reginald there?
She nodded, turned around, and went downstairs.
Sure enough, she saw two men sitting in the living room
drinking and chatting.
Maybe it was the alcohol talking, but Reginald had already taken off his jacket, rolled up his sleeves, and unbuttoned three
buttons on his collar. He was lounging back, tilting his head slightly, revealing his sharp features with a hint of mischief.
“Ms. Pierce finished her class,” Roderick was the first to see

Adelaide coming downstairs and greeted her warmly.
“Yeah, it’s done.” Adelaide nodded, then locked eyes with
Reginald the next second.
At that moment, Reginald’s eyes were a bit hazy and
intoxicating, kind of alluring.
“Want to go?” he asked quite naturally.
Just waited here for Adelaide.
Adelaide was asked so embarrassingly that she didn’t even dare
to look at Roderick. “Go.“”
Reginald put down his glass, grabbed his coat, and said, “I’m
outta here.”
Roderick grinned at them, “How about a late–night snack before
we go?”
“Keep it for you and your sister–in–law to eat!‘
Reginald walked steadily, spoke clearly. Adelaide, after
observing, was sure he wasn’t drunk, so she said goodbye to
Roderick and followed him.
Walking out of the Cohen’s villa, she asked, “Mr. Thorton, didn’t
you drive?”

“Here.” Reginald handed her the car keys, “You drive.”
Adelaide quickly looked around, didn’t see Nathan. So it looks
like she’s the driver, Reginald just went into the passenger seat.
Adelaide got behind the wheel.
“Adelaide, help me buckle up.”
“Mr. Thorton, you weren’t drunk.”
“No energy.”
He looked at Adelaide with a piercing gaze, tinged with a hint of
pity.
She was caught red–handed and eventually gave in.
Lean back, quickly grab the seatbelt, and fasten it for him.
The car started and drove away.
Reginald leaned his elbow on the car window, tilted his head,
and stared at Adelaide.
Adelaide felt that gaze, like, so obvious. She didn’t want to look back, especially if it meant making eye contact, which was just too awkward and nerve–wracking. So, she just told herself to
focus on driving.
“Why didn’t you tell me that Finley set you up on a blind date?”

In the quiet car, Reginald’s voice was especially clear. His voice, tainted by alcohol, sounded richer and more magnetic than
usual.
“It’s been resolved.”
“Figure it out?” Reginald snorted from his nostrils, “Adelaide,
you’re too confident.”
Seeing him say that, Adelaide was sure that something else must have happened afterwards.
She didn’t argue, but asked, “Mr. Thorton, do you know
anything?”
“Yeah, got it.”
“What’s that?”
“You didn’t ask me for help, so why should I tell you.”

Adelaide was not used to it, “If you don’t say it, why should I

This time Reginald was speechless, he was so angry.

Adelaide raised her eyebrows slightly, but quickly got
emotional because of his words: “How much did Finley take from the Jennings family?”
