She actually thought Abigail was kind of cute.
She sat on the single sofa and said, “You can cry out loud.
Holding back tears doesn’t feel good.”
That sentence seemed to instantly open Abigail’s floodgates, and
she burst into tears.
She cried while looking at Adelaide, “Are you, are you mocking
me?”
“No.”
“If there is, there is. Who told you that you are the one Reginald
likes? Who told me to come and drink with you?” With that, she
tilted her head back and took another swig of strong liquor.

Abigail cried and looked at her with a dazed expression, “Okay, I
admit you’re pretty and talented, getting into Reginald’s team as a designer. Unlike me… *sobs* I’m just a waste who only knows
how to eat, drink, and have fun. I have no talents at all, how
could Reginald ever like me.”
“You’re wrong.” Adelaide denied her words, calmly saying, “Just

all, background isn’t something everyone can easily get.”
Abigail was comforted and then she suddenly got nosy, “So, can
you tell me how you met and got together with Reginald?”
Adelaide said, “Believe it or not, I was just his subordinate, not in
a romantic relationship.”
Abigail squinted at her for a while, then a thought popped into
her head, “He’s still chasing you, you haven’t said yes to him, is
that what it means?”
“You, you, you!” Abigail stared at you for a while, then suddenly blurted out, “Don’t agree to him so quickly. Play hard to get. Make him feel the pain of rejection. Let him experience what it’s
like to want something he can’t have…”
Adelaide thought the topic shouldn’t continue, and asked, “Do
you want me to get you some snacks?”
Abigail nodded and said sweetly, “Thank you, you’re so kind.”
In the end, she called customer service and ordered a few
appetizers.
Abigail, who was a bit tipsy, brought up why she fell for
Reginald.

Six months ago, she went to Evercrest and happened to meet Reginald at a party. While everyone else was mingling, Reginald sat there and coldly turned down any woman who tried to chat
him up.
Back then she thought Reginald was really different, not at all like those rich playboys. So she specifically looked into Reginald
and found out he had never been involved in any scandals, not
even a dating history.
Then the more she searched, the more obsessed she became.
Adelaide admitted that in this high society circle, it’s common
for rich kids to have multiple boyfriends or girlfriends. But
someone like Reginald, that’s really rare. I bet anyone who hears
about it would be impressed.
She could understand why Abigail would get obsessed, after all,
when you like someone, any reason is valid.
The next second, Abigail grabbed her neck and cried out loudly,
“Without Reginald, can I still meet another Reginald, Adelaide?”
Adelaide refused to answer, picked up a potato chip and stuffed
it into her mouth, silencing her non–stop chatter. She tried to break free from Abigail’s tight grip on her arms, but Abigail only held on tighter. “Do you not even like me, Adelaide?”
“No.“”

“No, quite cute.”
“You were just trying to fool me.”
“How could it be.”

Adelaide got freaked out when she saw Abigail looking at her with a confused look and even getting closer to her face, “Abigail, see who I am clearly!”
“I wanted to say I feel like throwing up…….”
