Chapter 68
The cold shower last night was really something else.
Adelaide went downstairs and said hi to Draven, telling him she
needed a straw. Draven seemed to be ready in advance, quickly
handing her a straw and a super–sized water cup.
Draven said, “Mr. Thorton would throw tantrums like a six or
seven–year–old every time he got sick, acting like getting a shot
or taking medicine was the end of the world. If he couldn’t
tough it out, he would just drink hot water and sweat it out.”
“Nathan said Mr. Thorton had a really bad fever this time,
definitely can’t get better without taking medicine or getting a
shot. Ms. Pierce, this will help bring down the fever. Can you
please help persuade Mr. Thorton to drink it?”
“Mr. Thorton was always happy to see me now, because I
couldn’t help but scold him as soon as I saw him. So I had to ask
Ms. Pierce for help.”
Adelaide took it and promised to find a way to make Reginald
drink it.
When she entered the room, she found Reginald already lying
on his side, with his right arm casually resting on the edge of the
bed and his right hand hanging down.

“Rude not to look away!” Adelaide withdrew her gaze without a
trace, walking around to the side of the bed. “Mr. Thorton?”
“Hmm?” He closed his eyes and grunted in response.
Adelaide put the straw to his lips before he even opened his eyes, saying, “Mr. Thorton, drink some water.”
Reginald frowned, “This taste….”
“What flavor, water doesn’t have any flavor, just drink it Mr. Thorton, or else the water in your brain will evaporate.”
What nonsense.
Reginald, with a look of disdain on his face, still took a big drag
and inhaled deeply.
In an instant, he opened his eyes, which were even redder than
before.
“Is this called water?”
Adelaide saw his impatient expression for the first time, it was like a little kid throwing a tantrum. She couldn’t help but feel
like laughing.
Reginald seemed to have noticed something, his eyelids lifted,

Adelaide gave a light cough and said, “This is for reducing
fever.””
“I didn’t drink!” he shouted with much more strength.
“I’ll get Draven up here then.”
Reginald’s eyelid twitched twice, “Give it to me.”
Adelaide grinned and said, “Mr. Thorton, take your time
drinking, I’ll hold it for you.”
“I thank you,” Reginald said slowly, emphasizing each word.
“No problem, last night Mr. Thorton cooked radish soup for me,
today I fed Mr. Thorton some small bupleurum water, all good
now.“”
“Reginald snorted arrogantly, biting the straw, and drank with a
pale face.”
Not long after drinking, Reginald started sweating profusely.
Nathan also came in with the doctor at that time.
Reginald’s face looked even more sour when he saw the doctor.
“Didn’t I say we didn’t need a doctor?”
Nathan looked at Adelaide helplessly, See, he’s not willing.

Adelaide nodded silently in response, Both eyes saw it.
Soon after, she said, “Mr. Thorton, you had a really high fever, you need a doctor. I suggested Mr. Hurst to call the doctor, otherwise your brain might have been boiled away!”

Ms. Pierce was soothing the kids.
Reginald rolled over without resistance. Adelaide turned her face and smiled at the doctor, indicating to take a look.
