At that moment, anger and hatred swept through my entire body.
I knew that even if I handed this evidence to the authorities, not to mention that my search methods were irregular, Alaric’s father had plenty of people to take the fall.
They had done this secretly–it couldn’t be traced back to him, the big boss.
Just because his son wouldn’t let his beloved “toy” leave, Mr. Everhart only needed to move his finger slightly, and my mother would suffer “misfortune from heaven.”
The more I understood their family’s power and background, the more frightened I became. Wanting to avenge my mother was basically like an ant trying to shake a tree.
After returning, I kept thinking.
How much did Ethan Vale know about this, or was it possible that my father was also an accomplice in killing my mother?
After all, if Mom had taken me away, it would have been nothing but harm to him.
