“That’s not the only bodily fluid you’ve discharged on me today, kitten.” He said with a slight grin as he took off the jacket and threw it in the garbage bin.

I nodded and closed my eyes again, feeling content with Damien by my side. I opened my eyes quickly and took his hand, pulling it close to my heart, before I let myself fall asleep.
It felt like hours once I woke back up, but Damien still hadn’t moved from right next to me, rubbing my back with his hand in mine. “How long was I asleep?” I mumbled, blinking against the bright lights.
“About four hours. How are you feeling?” he asked me, setting down his phone, turning his full attention to me.
“A lot better, can I go home?” I asked him, slowly sitting up.
“Of course, I already signed the papers.” He said, helping me sit up, then turned his back to me as I dressed, waiting for me to finish before he spoke again. “I found the person who did this, they are taken care of.”
“Are they dead?” I asked him, taking his hand and letting him lead me out of the hospital and to his car.
“Yes.” He said, looking at me, obviously waiting for me to yell at him for killing someone for me. But I wasn’t upset at all. They had tried to kill me, which was different from insulting me.

“Are you upset with me?” I asked, looking down at my hands, folded in my lap.
“Why would I be upset with you?” He asked incredulously.
“Because you had to spend half your day in the hospital with me, and you didn’t get to finish your work load.”

“You are more important to me than anything else, in the hospital or not, I’d rather spend all day by your side than in an office.” He reassured me as he took both of my hands in his, and squeezed gently.
“Okay.” I said as we arrived back at my house. He was starting to get out when I stopped him by leaning over and kissing him on the mouth. I knew after what happened today, that I didn’t have to worry about my relationship with him anymore. He was pleasantly surprised by my kiss, but recovered quickly as he pulled me closer and kissed me back. “Do you want to spend the day together, tomorrow?” I asked him after I pulled away from
the kiss.
“Kitten, you know the answer to that.” He said with a smile.
I giggled as I opened my door and stepped out “I can’t wait” I told him before shutting the door and walking into the house, giddy. Before opening the door, I waved at him and smiled, then stepped inside.
As soon as I closed the front door, I was grabbed from behind, with a cloth shoved in my face. I did.
