Chapter 9
Bianca completely broke down and tried to throw herself at Tristan, but Mr. Clark grabbed her by the collar and yanked her back.
“Get lost! Stay the hell away from our family, or I swear, you won’t live to see tomorrow.”
Quickly, security dragged her out, and my parents, who were still kneeling at the gates, were thrown out along with her.
After that, Mrs. Clark dropped to her knees in front of me, sobbing so hard she could barely
breathe.
‘Eloise, I’m begging you, please save my son! There has to be a way to bring him back to
normal!”
helped her up and sighed, “Mrs. Clark, I truly envy your son because he has a mother who actually loves him.”
Something I never got to experience, not in this life or the last.
‘Out of respect for you, I’ll tell you the only way left. But if you aren’t sincere, not even the gods can help.”
Mrs. Clark nodded eagerly, tears streaking down her face. “We’re sincere! I swear on my life we
are!”
Mr. Clark was just as desperate and added, “If you can save my son, you’ll have the undying gratitude of our entire family!”
‘A hundred years ago, your ancestors offended the Abandoned Tower of Gods in the Sacred Village. Ever since then, your bloodline has been cursed,” I began.
‘The only way to break it is for Tristan to kneel in the tower for three days and three nights anc Jenuinely repent. If he makes it through, he’ll be granted six months of reprieve. During that time f he marries a true blessed girl, the curse will be lifted,” I explained.
The couple lit up with hope. “We’ll take him there right now!”
But Tristan suddenly shouted behind me, voice full of rage,”Eloise! You want me, a man, to knee n front of that abandoned tower? You’re heartless! You’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you? You want to embarrass me! If you hadn’t insisted on marrying me back then, none of this would’ve happened!”
I turned, giving him a cold, mocking smile. “Tristan, if I were truly heartless, I’d have strung you up a thousand feet in the air and let you fall to your death.”
Recalling that scenario, he froze and his eyes welled with tears. “So this is your revenge.”
I didn’t respond. I just grabbed Drake’s hand and walked away.
Third Person’s POV
Later, when news spread that there was still a chance to save Tristan, the Shelton couple dragged Bianca to the Sacred Village in a panic.
But Eloise’d made it clear that only Tristan himself could enter the Abandoned Tower of Gods.
As such, the Clark couple blocked the entrance and wouldn’t let anyone else in, so the rest had to kneel outside.
After one day and one night, the Shelton couple couldn’t take it anymore. They made up an excuse about going to a nearby shrine to pray and quietly slipped away.
The Clark couple left too, as they had tracked down another blessed girl and gone to her home that same night to plead for help.
That left only Bianca, still kneeling by the tower alone.
Terrified and desperate, she eventually crept inside to find Tristan.
‘Honey, I came to keep you company,” she whispered.
At first, he ignored her. But after more than a day of constant praying and no food or water, his
hroat was dry, and his lips were cracking.
Go get me some water and something to eat,” he croaked.
But Bianca just flopped down beside him and muttered, “They took the car. There’s no food o vater left.”
ristan’s rage flared upon hearing that. But then he remembered what Eloise had said.
Hardly, he held back and continued praying.
And the longer he prayed, the more he hated himself.
Why didn’t he listen to Eloise? She told him in this life that Bianca couldn’t save him. Why did he till insist on going against her?
Vhy did he say all those vile things?
Vhy did he just stand there and let her parents rip her clothes off and beat her?
le thought Eloise must hate him now. That was why she didn’t try to marry him this time like
he did before.
As such, his thoughts spiraled into the past life.
On their wedding night, he couldn’t even stand to touch her. But Eloise, dressed in sheer silk vrapped her arms around him and whispered, “Honey, believe me, I’m the only one who can save
‘ou.”
That night, she had been gentle, tender, and loving. Their room was filled with warmth and
passion.
But then came Bianca’s suicide attempt and he turned into a monster.
He had ordered for Eloise to be tied to a helicopter, and then, with his own hands, cut the rope.
He had watched her fall, watched her body hit the ground and shatter into pieces.
