Chapter 8
Her head banged against the floor so hard it quickly drew blood.
Seeing this, Garrett finally swallowed his pride and bowed his head to me.
“Miss Willa, I was completely blind and hurt you. I’ll never dare again, I’ll never abuse my power again. Please spare me this time…”
After finishing my coffee, I set the cup aside and looked at everyone calmly. “The way you’re talking, it’s like I’m some kind of cold-blooded killer. This is a civilized society-how could I do anything illegal?”
Sterling asked tentatively, “Does Miss Willa mean you forgive this bastard?”
1 smiled slightly. “Of course. They did hurt me, but I’ve already gotten my revenge. An eye for an eye just goes on forever-let’s put this behind us.”
Both of them immediately kowtowed frantically, thanking me for my forgiveness.
I cleared my throat. “Not only am I forgiving you, I’m going to help make your wildest dreams come true.”
All three looked at me in confusion.
“I had someone look into it-Brielle is actually Garrett’s girlfriend. You two just call each other ‘brother’ and ‘sister’ because Uncle Sterling doesn’t approve.”
“Now I’m going to help you lovebirds get together. As soon as you leave here, you’re going straight to city hall to get married. Within seven days, I want to see your wedding in Chicago.”
After hearing my demand, naturally some were ecstatic and others weren’t.
Brielle couldn’t believe her luck-her long-pursued dream of marrying into wealth was finally coming true. She was absolutely overjoyed, her face lighting up with a big smile.
But her smile on that almost completely disfigured face looked especially horrifying.
Sterling was obviously deeply unhappy.
He’d never liked Brielle’s background and behavior to begin with. This whole disaster with Garrett was partly her fault, making him despise her even more.
I looked at the three of them, each lost in their own thoughts, and asked: “Well? Can you do it?”
All three finally gave me a definitive answer.
I smiled and waved at them. “The car to take you to city hall is waiting outside.”
As soon as the words left my mouth, they immediately scrambled up from the ground and bolted toward the exit, as if terrified that if they were even a second too late, I might change my mind.
The filthy, stinking Garrett and Brielle were dropped right at the entrance to city hall.
The staff inside held their breath against the terrible smell and approached. “Sir, miss, how can we help you?”
Garrett looked at Brielle with her pig-head face and felt a wave of revulsion.
Still lost in the joy of marrying into the Whitmore family, Brielle quickly said, “We’re here to get married.”
The city hall worker had been on the job for years but had never seen such a bizarre couple.
Everyone else who came to get married wanted to look their absolute best, but these two looked like refugees. The guy especially looked disgusted and didn’t seem like he wanted to get married at all.
But complaints aside, the worker dutifully processed their marriage certificate and took what had to be the ugliest, most bizarre wedding photo in history.
When my driver reported that they’d successfully gotten their certificate, I felt the satisfaction of a successful prank.
Except this prank would last their entire fucking lives.
Their wedding a week later sent the Whitmore family straight to the trending topics.

The wedding trending topic caused Whitmore Corp’s stock to plummet and their assets to be cut in half, removing them from Chicago’s three major business
families.
Of course, I had a hand in pushing things along behind the scenes.
Sterling blamed it all on Brielle, believing she’d brought bad luck to the family. So, from the day she married into the Whitmores, he never smiled at her once.
As for Garrett, after the wedding, he spent all his time partying and refused to come home and see Brielle’s face, which had become hideous from lack of proper
treatment.
At first, Brielle was still caught up in the joy of finally marrying into the Whitmore family. But as time went on, she realized that everyone in the family-even the maids-didn’t treat her like a real Mrs. Whitmore.
she had almost no say in the household and only received a meager allowance each month. This was nothing like the wealthy lifestyle she’d imagined.
Things got worse when Garrett kept fooling around outside after marriage, leading to countless fights.
Through all the constant arguing, Brielle became increasingly paranoid and sensitive.
Finally, after yet another fight, she snapped and stabbed Garrett with a knife, then killed herself…
When I heard about their deaths, I was lounging in the Hawaiian sun with Mom, enjoying a peaceful sunbath.
Brilliant sunlight filtered through the gaps in the palm tree leaves, and the gentle ocean breeze caressed my hair-what a gloriously beautiful day!
