I am a person who absolutely loathes waiting.
In the agonizing minutes and seconds of waiting, hope and despair battled within me, like a thousand tiny needles piercing my heart.
Yet, when I woke in the middle of the night, I was grateful I still had the chance to wait at all.
Another year passed, the wind sharp and biting.
I reached out, catching a snowflake.
The crisp crunch of snow behind me made me instinctively hold my breath.
Though I had been disappointed countless times, this time, I still trembled with tension.
I forced myself to turn around, only to see a completely white cat casually strolling past.
My hopes instantly deflated. I knelt down and ruffled the white cat’s smooth fur against the grain.
But in that exact moment, I heard the voice that haunted my dreams from behind me.
“Don’t tease him.”
Caleb tilted his umbrella over my head, a gentle, intoxicating smile playing on his lips.
“Master, tease me instead.”
