After saying that, Reuben turned coldly to leave.

He’d barely reached the door when a cry erupted behind him.

He turned around to see Addison lunging with a scalpel, driving it hard into his body.

Addison, having lost the last shred of hope, was consumed by hatred.

Her eyes were bulging, wild with fury.

Addison looked deranged, her frame gaunt.

Her eyes were red, and she wrenched out the scalpel and plunged it in again.

The air reeked of blood, but she didn’t care about it.

All she saw was the man who’d tormented her.

This was her only shot at revenge.

“Reuben! Let’s die together!”

Unbridled loathing devoured Addison.

Each stab of the scalpel sent a thrill through her.

As she raised it for a third strike, Reuben seized the blade.

His palm was sliced open, blood pouring.

He shoved the crazy Addison back violently, his gaze icy and ferocious.

“Since you’re so eager, I’ll grant your wish and make you atone for every sin in one go.”

A pot of boiling oil was carried in.

Addison’s madness gave way to stark terror. She shrank back, no longer craving the light beyond.

“Don’t do this, don’t…”

She seemed to grasp what was coming, inching back until her shoulders hit the far wall.

The oil bubbled and hissed, scalding hot.

But Reuben showed no mercy.

He ordered the bodyguards to bind Addison and hang her above the pot.

The heat singed her skin.

Her tears evaporated on contact, leaving her face streaked with terror.

Reuben, I’m dying! Let me go! I know I was wrong. Please, I’m begging you, I’ll die! Reuben!”

She shrieked, her voice cracking with raw fear.

“Eddie is already dead.”

Reuben’s voice was void of warmth, stating the fact like a blade.

Addison froze, understanding Reuben meant to kill her to avenge Eddie.

But it couldn’t end like this!

She begged, but the rope shortened, lowering her closer to the seething oil.

Just as her toes hovered above it, Addison could no longer stand it, screaming in hysteria.

Reuben! If you hadn’t tried to scare Evelyn with Eddie, he’d still be alive!

“You were the one who tied Eddie up! You threw him in the oil! It was you, not me!” The rope stopped, only 4 inches from the pot.

Hot droplets spattered Addison’s cheek.

Reuben’s smirk was cold.

I wondered why you ‘came back from the dead’. So I looked into it. Guess what I found?”

At that, Addison’s pupils contracted.

She didn’t flinch at the burning pain on her face, just shook her head frantically.

‘Don’t… Don’t say it…”

A stack of photos sliced past her cheek, fluttering one by one into the oil pot below.

Addison squeezed her eyes shut, but Reuben wouldn’t let her escape.

His voice, icy as the grave, laid bare the truth.

“Back then, you knew I was going to propose. You didn’t want to accept, so you faked an accident and ran off overseas.

“All those years

abroad, you

had endless boyfriends, endless abortions. But no one wanted to marry you.”

In the photos, Addison looked provocative, tangled with different men, sometimes even several at once.

Hearing her past laid out, Addison almost went crazy!

Then you heard I’d achieved success, so you want to settle by marrying me. But I’ve already married Evelyn, so you set out to destroy her, and even went after my sons.

“Am I wrong, Addison? You were garbage long ago. You don’t even deserve to be compared with Evelyn!”
